The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Sharing is caring!

If I had to guess, I would bet that chocolate chip cookies are the most popular type of cookie in the world. It’s so classic. So yummy. So easy to make.

There are many recipes out there claiming to be “the best”. Some produce soft and chewy cookies. Some are thin. Some are thicker. Some are crispier.

To be honest, I think the best chocolate chip cookie varies from person to person. Some like a crispy edge while others prefer a completely soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookie.

Today, I’m sharing with your one of my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes. Sure, I’ve been sharing a bunch of Crumbl copycat recipes lately such as the S’mores Brownie CookiesCircus Animal CookiesSalted Caramel Cheesecake CookiesS’mores Brownie Cookies or the Chilled Sugar Cookies and this could definitely fall into that category.

The goal was a copycat Crumbl recipe of their Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie but we modified it. First, I like semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips better than milk chocolate chips so that was swapped out. I don’t have the actual Crumbl recipe, so we had to wing it. Plus, we weren’t going for a big-as-your-head cookie with this one so that’s a bit different too.

I think what we have here is a delicious chocolate chip cookie that isn’t quite as thick as the Crumbl version but not as dry either. I think this recipe makes a much more melt-in-your-mouth version.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Using a stand mixer, cream the butter, sugar, brown sugar for 3-4 minutes. Since the butter is cold, you want to mix the sugars and butter for quite a bit until it’s all combined.

2. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue to mix for an additional minute.

3. Add in the cake flour, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just blended. No need to overmix.

4. Stir in chocolate chips by hand.
