Congratulations to our Zippy Light Giveaway Winner – Alison Serewko
If you have been with Baby Gizmo a while, you would know that I was a HUGE fan of the original Inglesina Zippy stroller. I loved the one-hand, compact fold and the huge canopy. A few years ago, they discontinued the Zippy to make room for new Inglesina strollers, but we missed our old friend. We missed our Zippy fold. Well, good news! Inglesina is bringing back the Zippy in a new lighter-weight version called the Inglesina Zippy Light.
The Zippy Light seat is roomy and accommodates a newborn to a child of 55 lbs. It measures 13″ wide with an 18″ seat back and a measurement of 24″ from the back of the seat to the top of the canopy. The seat reclines back easily with one hand into three different positions including nearly flat which is suitable for a newborn. There is a padded, adjustable 5-point harness with a secure buckle that is tricky for mischievous toddlers to open. The calf rest is adjustable up and down and the baby bumper bar is swing away and removable.
The basket under the seat is roomy enough to hold a large diaper bag and is easiest to access from the side of the stroller.
Inglesina knew we loved the large, original Zippy canopy and the Zippy Light doesn’t disappoint. It’s a gigantic canopy that is full-coverage even with the seat reclined and features a small peek-a-boo window with a cover.
The handle on the Zippy is not adjustable and isn’t the tallest we’ve seen at 39″ from ground to handle. If you are tall, we highly suggest trying out the stroller first to make sure it’s a comfortable height.
The Inglesina Zippy Light rolls on 6″ hard rubber wheels and an all-wheel suspension. The front wheels are 360 degree swivel wheels with the ability to lock straight to tackle a little all-terrain such as grass, gravel and playground mulch. The stroller has fantastic one-handed maneuverability but was definitely designed with smooth surfaces in mind, which is typical in a lightweight stroller.
If you are looking for a super easy, one-handed fold and unfold, you found it with the Zippy Light. This stroller easily folds down with one hand into a standing fold that only weighs 15.2 lbs. The lightweight frame and the fold make it a perfect travel stroller. The unfold is just as easy. With a push of the button and a shake, you can open the Zippy Light with one-hand as well.
Sure, you can put an newborn right in the seat of the Zippy Light but you can also use the stroller as a travel system with a sold separately car seat adapter too. The Inglesina Zippy Light also comes with a cup holder and a rain guard.
To say we are pleased that the Inglesina Zippy is back in a new and improved (and lighter!) version is an understatement! We love the large canopy, easy fold, great maneuverability on this lightweight stroller that is great for everyday or travel. The Inglesina Light will be available for sale starting on March 25, 2016 and will retail for $329. It will be available in five colors: Desert Dune, Total Black, Ocean Blue, Vivid Red and Sweet Candy Pink.
