As the weather turns cool and the snow starts to fall in many parts of the country, it’s a perfect time (well, anytime is a good time!) to go on a Caribbean getaway to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. That’s exactly what we did when the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa invited us to check out their amazing destination and everything they have to offer families.
As it is an all-inclusive property that is very accommodating to kids, we knew that this needed to be an entire family trip. So, we packed our bags and headed to Jamaica. How can you say no when you are headed to this?
Where is the Grand Palladium Resort?
The Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa is located beachfront on the breathtaking blue water of the northern Jamaica coast. Only 40 minutes from the Montego Bay airport, this resort features modern design and luxurious facilities.
ARRIVAL
When we arrived at the resort, we were welcomed with delicious drinks. Of course, they had appropriate drinks for the kids and even a space for the kids to “check-in” as well with a container of cookies to greet them.
Since we have a family of five, we had two adjoining rooms to comfortably fit all of us. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed from pool towels to robes and slippers. You can see a video room tour in our Baby Gizmo video below.
ROOM TOUR
In the first resort room, we had a main sitting area with a couch, two chairs, a flat screen TV, mini fridge stocked with included soda and beer, and a balcony with an amazing view.
The bathrooms were tastefully decorated and included a large jacuzzi tub and separate shower with rain shower head.
The separate bedroom has a king-size bed, flat panel TV and another balcony with a gorgeous view.
In our second room, there were two full-size beds and a couch that pulled out to a bed so that all three kids had a comfortable place to sleep.
With a resort this beautiful, no matter how great the rooms are, you don’t spend a lot of time in your room, so let me show you around the resort.
POOLS
The Grand Palladium is home to the largest pool in Jamaica, and let me tell you, it was huge! So big, in fact, that it wraps around part of the property. There was plenty of shallow areas of the pool that were great for small kids and the water park with four water slides was a HUGE hit with the kids.
While many would think the swim-up bars would only appeal to the adults, my kids LOVED the fact that they could swim up and order a slushy (they called it a popsicle) or other types of kid drinks. For the adults, there are 13 bars situated throughout the resort, and with this destination being an all-inclusive, that’s a good thing!
The pools were amazing but it wouldn’t be right not to talk about the breathtaking beach that the property is on. The deep blue water and the white sand is definitely a reason to visit Jamaica. When we weren’t at the pools, we were at the beach.
BEACH
The Grand Palladium Resorts offer a wide variety of activities for all ages. There was a sand soccer field, volleyball court, checkers and giant connect 4 board all poolside that the kids really enjoyed. For those who want to get even sportier, you can visit the turf soccer field, basketball courts and numerous tennis courts. If miniature golf is your thing, they have that too! Plus, there are water sports such as kayaking, pedal boats, standup paddle boards and sailboats that are no charge for guests.
GRAND PALLADIUM SPA
One of the mornings during our visit, we dropped the kids at the Mini Club (more on that later!) and hit the spa for a romantic couples massage. The spa was amazing with outdoor pools, saunas and steam rooms, and I highly recommend the couples massage if you are visiting with your significant other.
MINI CLUB
Situated next to the main pool, with indoor and outdoor areas, the Mini Club is supervised by professionals who organize different activities depending on the age of the child. They have room for painting, crafts and games, a children’s play park, video games with projector and a mini disco for the little guests aged between 4 and 12 years. Our three kids even participated in a “High School Musical” performance on the main stage with the Mini Club and had costumes and everything! It was SO cute!
With so many things to do at this resort from the beach, the pools and the fitness center/spa, to the water sports and shows, we can’t pick a favorite thing of our trip. It was all so amazing! And the food was great at the 7 a la carte restaurants and 3 buffet restaurants, but we were so busy eating it to take photos. Yep, I actually let my kids eat the food on our vacation instead of demanding they wait until I set up a mini photo shoot with the tacos. Sometimes moms have a give in a little. 🙂
